FORT WORTH, Texas – All eyes are on the 2024 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships, where artistic gymnastics’ biggest stars will compete head-to-head for U.S. titles and National Team spots May 30-June 2 in Fort Worth, Texas.
The final stop before the 2024 Olympic Team Trials – Gymnastics June 27-30 in Minneapolis, this year’s U.S. Championships boast 26 athletes who have competed at the Olympics, World Championships and/or Pan American Games. The athletes account for 15 Olympic, 77 World and 27 Pan Am Games medals, for a total of 119.
The 2024-25 USA Gymnastics’ National Teams for junior and senior men and women will be selected at the competition in Fort Worth and will determine the lineups for the Olympic Trials in Minneapolis later in June.
Women’s history in the making
The 2024 Championships will mark the second time the last three Olympic all-around gold medalists grace the podium at a gymnastics meet together. Gabby Douglas (2012), Simone Biles (2016) and Suni Lee (2020) highlight a stacked women’s field. Biles looks to make history once again, shooting for her ninth U.S. all-around title to extend her tenure as the most decorated American all-around gymnast of all time, man or woman.
As Douglas and Lee both aim to collect National Team berths and places at the Trials, Olympic medalists Jade Carey and Jordan Chiles, and six-time World medalist Shilese Jones each hope to reclaim their spots on the team after medal-winning performances at the 2024 Core Hydration Classic earlier in May. In a field of 41 senior women with multiple World and Pan Am Games medalists, competition is guaranteed to be tight.
The junior women’s all-around title is up for grabs in 2024 with last year’s gold, silver and bronze medalists now competing in the senior division. 2023 fourth-place finisher Gabrielle Hardie and 2024 Core Hydration Classic gold medalist Claire Pease are among the junior athletes with national titles in their sights.
Vets vs. young talent in the men’s field
The U.S. men return to domestic competition for the first time in 2024 since the Winter Cup in February. It will be a battle between veterans and young stars in Fort Worth with 34 senior men’s athletes expected to compete.
2020 Olympian Brody Malone continues his comeback to elite competition after injury, joined by his Tokyo teammates Yul Moldauer and Shane Wiskus as they all eye another Olympic berth. Heading up the new generation are 2023 U.S. champion and World team bronze medalist Asher Hong, World all-around bronze medalist Fred Richard and two-time World silver medalist Khoi Young.
In the junior division, defending all-around champion Nathan Roman looks to repeat his victor and is coming off a divisional all-around title earlier this month at the USAG Men’s Development Program National Championships. He will face stiff competition in a field of 2024 international medalists including Maksim Kan, Danila Leykin and Ty Roderiques among those aiming for the podium.

This year marks the fifth time the state of Texas has played host to the U.S. Gymnastics Championships and the second time the meet will take place in Fort Worth, most recently being held in the city in 2021.
