With the nerf to Berserking is Leviathan better for an crit build? Yes max for Berserking is still higher but you can back bar Leviathan and use other set on front bar.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Why would you back-bar Leviathan and use a different front bar set? I don't think I understand how that would work.

And the Berserking timed stacks is why it's better- since they carry over to the back bar, you don't have to worry about losing the bonus on the back bar.

If I'm looking at the most up to date set numbers, Levi is 1528 crit vs. AY's 2410, so the difference is huge.

Sorry, I wrote it wrong, use Leviathan on body and have it up all the time.
Use any proc set like Aegis Caller and have on front bar.
Berserking has to be front bar since its heavy but it would work better on body.
However stack sets like Relequen also want to be on body.

    Got it, makes more sense.

I think the "issue" here is that Relequen is still so strong that it's the meta on almost every stam class (Stamplar may be the one exception, but it's replaced by Deadly in that case, which also needs to be a body set, so they still use AY as their front bar set), and Rele is an absolute non-negotiable body set since the stacks don't carry to the back bar.

Stam builds are kinda stuck with Rele as their body set, so if you're looking at a front bar set, AY >>> Leviathan (oddly, I front bar Mother's Sorrow [mag equivalent of Levi] on my magwarden and have no issues, but we don't generally have any better sets for crit).

I'm sure it would be fine for an off-meta build with Levi body + proc set of choice, but the Rele meta means that's going to be your 5-piece set pretty much no matter what.

I still prefer Leviathan for Trash fights, Overland, Normal Dungeons, etc. It is more consistent and easier accessible.
I do not bother with AY, I would only use it for Long Veteran difficulty fights, anyways.

read, think and write. In that order.

An very good point, found that running random normal guild runs on my stamsorc overland setup with VO+ briarheart I think+ wild of the wild hunt worked well. Why wild hunt well gone go fast, monster set was a bit pointless anyway.

Kenras's will outparse Leviathan in PVE content. It's not a crit set, though, but you can make up some with Thief mundus.

I still kind of prefer acuity for trash fights and tzogvin for boss fights, the 1487 extra penetration from Tzogvin is nice these days

Agree with @SidraWillowsky. Not using Relequen is a mistake

We need more options outside of Relequen for stam users. Main reason I don't use it outside of completive content is because of the light and heavy attack requirement. Arthritis has not been kind to my trigger finger.

Stay safe and enjoy the journey 😊

PS. ZOS stop the micromanagement of the green tree 🥺

The problem with both AY and Rele on trash is there is often not the time to build stacks, so you will often find that Leviathan/Deadly will significantly outperform in those situations.

So, it depends on the content you are doing and whether this is a boss or a trash fight.

AY+Tzog seems like a fun combination on a stamplar for trash fights.
Deadly+Rele is hard to beat for single target fights, it does have its drawbacks though.
